The 2020 United States presidential election, scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2020, will be the 59th quadrennial U.S. presidential election. Voters will select presidential electors who in turn on December 14, 2020, will either elect a new president and vice president or re-elect the incumbents. Republicans and Democrats are more divided along ideological lines – and partisan acrimony is deeper and more extensive – than at any point in recent history. These trends manifest themselves in myriad ways, both in politics and in everyday life. During the civil war, when America was divided over slavery, President Abraham Lincoln led the country through the Civil War, its bloodiest war and its greatest moral, constitutional, and political crisis.
Below is the link to the blog listing 10 qualities that made Abraham Lincoln a great leader, written by Catherine L. Moreton, J.D. based on historian Doris Kearns Goodwin’s views on the president.
Please read the blog and write a 500 word essay about what 2 essential leadership qualities, either from the blog or any other source, that you think would help the next president lead America to a united country. Tell us which presidential candidate possesses the qualities you selected.
